As another great year approaches, our class of 2018 will be graduating. Seniors especially are excited to be moving on to college and much more. One of our proud seniors is Alex Palacios, who is involved in ASB, and the tennis team. She enjoys playing on the tennis team because as she states, “It’s really fun to go against other teams with my teammates and it’s kind of an independent sport, even though we’re all together, so it also tests your skills a little bit, and it’s just really fun to play, and the team is just a great group of individuals.”
Something that is getting Alex excited for senior year, is that this will be her last year playing tennis with her team and her last year with the ASB group. This is getting her excited because, “I’ve been involved in ASB all of my four years so it’s really exciting that this year will be my last and I will finally graduate with my ASB stole.” Thanks to Alex and the rest of the ASB group, we have had amazing rallies, homecoming fashion show, and much more, and we hope to see more amazing things from ASB throughout the rest of the school year.
Even though Alex is very busy during school, she still makes times for herself to take a break and relax. Some of the things that she does on her free time is “reading books and watching movies for fun while I’m not at school.” Alex says she “lives at school” because of all the activities she is involved in, so getting time to get a break from this is very nice.
Just like anyone, Alex has had some embarrassing moments throughout her four years coming to our school. Alex tells us one of her embarrassing stories when, “It was during back to school night, there was a helium tank outside of the paint room and I had to move it inside of the room, so i’m trying to move the helium tank and as I do (it’s really heavy) I end up dropping it and spinning in a full circle with the tank as well, and when I finally dropped it, all the parents stared at me, my friends just laugh at me, and as I try to pick it up the maintenance guy wonders who dropped the tank when it was me the whole time.” This shows us that everyone has embarrassing moments at school.
As the year goes by and we are only in the beginning, we are getting closer to the point of our seniors graduating. Most seniors have a bright future and hope to move onto a life of their own. Alex says “ After graduation, I plan on going to UCLA, and maybe Pepperdine University, and UC Berkeley to study psychology.” She also cannot wait for the day her class graduates.
Alex would also like to give a thanks to Mr. Clark for “always being there, and always helping out when I need it, and for giving us rides to Mcdonald's.” She would also like to give a shoutout to Mr. Magana and to Mr. Castillo for being great teachers and for being there for all their students.
